Highlights

Built around a scintillation sensor

1

CsI(Tl) sensor

2,000–3,000 CPM/µSv/h (Cs-137): many times the counts of a typical GM tube, so readings settle faster and low levels become visible.

2

Full-face display

128 × 240 backlit LCD with a 2-minute trend graph, statistical uncertainty (±%) and Korean or English screens.

3

One button

Short press to move between menus, long press to act. Alarm level, averaging time and sound are set on the device.

4

Ready for the field

IP64, 1 m drop, about 3 days per charge with auto backlight and USB charging.

Food Check · Firmware V7.0

From counts to Bq/kg, on the device

QSF104, QSF104B and QSF104F calculate the detection limit and the Food Check result themselves, at 95% confidence (2σ). No manual count logging or calculation needed.

  1. Measure the background for 30 minutes with a water-filled container.
  2. Measure the food sample in the same container for 30 minutes.
  3. Read the result: “ND < limit” or the activity ± 2σ in Bq/kg.
Food Check measures total gamma counts and does not identify nuclides. For official testing of I-131, Cs-134 and Cs-137, use a QSF800 series analyzer.

Accessories and services

Food measuring container

Dedicated container the Food Check is calibrated for. Required for Bq/kg results.

Lead shield (14 mm)

Cuts the natural background to one-fifth or less and lowers the detection limit well below 100 Bq/kg.

Cs-137 reference source

100 Bq/kg reference solution to check the sensitivity constant yourself.

Silicone protective case

Grip and drop protection for daily field use.

USB communication

Data output with collection software for logging on a PC.

Calibration certificate

In-house calibration report or KOLAS-accredited calibration on request.
